Community Involvement and Philanthropy Giving back to the community is central to KCYP’s mission, and this committee provides members with the opportunity to get have hands-on involvement by organizing philanthropic events such as food and clothing drives, an annual community-wide volunteer fair and helping to build a house through Habitat for Humanity. Education and Leadership The Education and Leadership Committee exists to fulfill KCYP’s mission of providing education and professional development opportunities to its membership. The committee works to bring in speakers and panelists to ensure KCYP members are adequately informed on issues affecting the region, such as economics, politics, finance, education, and social issues, and are able to effectively and intelligently participate in conversations surrounding these issues. Marketing KCYP’s marketing committee is responsible for telling the community what the group is up to each month. The marketing committee coordinates with the social, community involvement and education and leadership committees to promote upcoming events and works to increase attendance at each event. Additionally, the committee works with local businesses to provide them with greater visibility with young professionals through sponsorship opportunities. Financial Come help ensure the long-term viability of KCYP by helping to create a fiscally responsible annual budget, ensure compliance with IRS guidelines, collect dues and pay bills on behalf of the group. Membership Our membership committee is responsible for recruiting new members and retaining our current members.
